Below are the details/requirements of voicing your vote to FSANZ. Please note that if you only follow the below guidelines and write a brief, 1 paragraph letter (ie I am in favour of safely produced, natural raw milk), that is enough to make a difference for the Real Milk Campaign. THIS SHOULD ONLY TAKE YOU A FEW MINUTES::)
Details: Submissions must be made in writing and should clearly be marked with the word ‘Submission’:
Send to: submissions@foodstandards.gov.au or hard copies to the Standards Management Officer at PO Box 7186, Canberra BC, ACT 2610.
Quote project number: Proposal P1007: Primary Production & Processing Requirements for Raw Milk Products.

Submissions may simply state your views and opinions, or take the form of detailed scientific or technical documents that discuss or support your position in relation to the application or proposal. If you only have a few minutes, a 1 paragraph letter or email is fine.
If you have more time, the submission can address the objectives and the issues and questions that have been raised and provide, where possible, supporting information and facts. To do this you need to read the relevant assessment report carefully. You may provide comment and/or answer the questions raised in the paper. In all cases, your submission will be more effective if you provide supporting evidence of your views.

Raw milk should be the consumers choice. Even Louis Pasteur himself said “that its the terrain (the internal environment) and not bacteria etc, which create disease”. Therefore if an individual has a healthy internal environment, they will remain healthy with good quality foods going in.
If certain individuals are apprehensive about raw milk, then they have a choice to go for the pasteurized variety. Those that would prefer raw milk, should be able to make that choice also.

The benefits of raw milk far outweigh any potential concern about it, and people should be able to make their own decisions in this matter. If the cows are looked after well then the milk is always safe to drink. Raw milk is so much better tasting, and has a lot more nutrition than pasteurized milk. In all honesty, it is a breach of people’s liberty to not allow the consumer to choose for themselves in this matter.

THIS IS FILTH. Once again the Australian government is following nations like the US that have fallen into a heap due to there heath regulations.
Here we have the Aussie government once again following the filthy practices of pharmaceuticals where they want to prevent us from any NATURAL health products.!
I am so Tired of how the Australian government is following these devastated and destructive nations in there population killing, and are making these ILLEGAL rules to regulate a countries health.
Since when has a government had a legal right to prevent a person from possessing natural foods.?
Since when does a government have a legal right to saturate out drinking water with chemical fluoride, while they ban natural healthy milk produced from this land.?
NEVER, And they will be held accountable for putting forward such evil upon the Australian people.!

I consider raw milk and raw milk products are very important in human nutrition. The heating (pasteurization) of milk and especially homogenization is very harmful to the milk products. As a registered pharmacist I am aware of the level of disease caused by poor nutrition in our society. Unprocessed foods ARE best.

I am really pleased that FSANZ has gone to the effort of making the regulations ‘open to submission’. Despite the negativity directed toward FSANZ I am relieved that they are at last (in some shape or form) listening to the voices of consumers and taking the time to hear what we have to say.
Yes, it’s taken too friggin’ long for this to happen. Yes, they should have done it ages ago, but for goodness sake everyone, take this opportunity by the throat and voice your vote!!
Oh and for the record - I am totally for a regulated system of milk distribution. No more black market stuff for me, I’d like to see the systems in place that exist internationally.
Thanks for hearing my rant! Bella

Given that today’s sanitary condions are far superior to those of 100 years ago, I see no reason why raw milk should not be sold to members of the public who wish to purchase it. Cleanliness is important and strict guidlines should be in place. However, pasteurizaton is not the answer as we end up with clean milk which is devoid of most of its natural goodness. I would also like to see Aussie raw cheeses available so I don’t have to purchase ones from France and Switzerland (where they are obviously more enlightened about milk products).

As an ex farmer who drank raw milk directly from the cow for many years of course I am in favour of safely produced raw milk.
It is my resposnibility to make the right choice in what milk I purchase for my family and not the choice of a Government body who thinks they know what is right for my family.

I pay a premium price for real milk but am prepared to do so in the pursuit of better health. I have had a lifetime of allergies related to milk products but this is no longer the case consuming full fat unpasteurised milk. My cholesterol remains low. Real milk is just one product in my real food diet but I would like to continue to have the choice.
